Remembrance Of Shadow

All around,
the darkness gathers.
My dread grows as a stroke of fear falls against my naked soul.
It catches me off guard
striking me hard,
my soul falls
to the fallen dead leaves.

In my madness I go limp
while nothingness looms over me.

Now alone in silence,
my fervent plea falls upon blind eyes,
as shadows dance
and teases my fringing soul.
I’m lift to wonder
this barren landscape
cold, and alone.
With nothing but my shadow
to keep me company.
