Passing Sorrow

The night falls in a heavy,
suffocating cloak,
cold and alone
the night suffocates
all emotions.

The emotions for which you pine
flares once, then dies,
devoured by your obsessions.

Hope strikes you
and then dies.

Your emotions throb,
and begin thriving off your mind.

How could you cause such pain?
As shadows surround you, crying,
we have lost our way!

You are left setting within,
it’s gripping tide,
reeling from its waves of eternal shadow.
All you can do,
is pray that the sorrow will pass.
